I have one, and I love it, but that bridge really makes me angry, and its neck dive sometimes irritates me too, other than that, I love this bass

Wow, the Alembic instruments are holy grail for me.

a neck-diver. I've had two of these. I like them, but frankly, it's a more expensive than it should be for the quality of materials and components. I swapped out the PU for a quarter pounder and the junky tuning machines were replaced too. I can live with most anything, but this is a serious neck-diving bass. You have to hold it up for an entire gig unless you are seated.

Orange is good stuff.i found a Donner fuzz seeker that does the same thing for half the price.these are hard to find though

Great Bass. I have it in Olympic White. Someone needs to make "Upgraded" drop-in replacement Tuners = only Disappointment for me.

I agree with the pickups if it wasn't a signature, most massive hot neck pickups sound woofy whether it be a fender wide range or a gibson/epi mudbucker and they are often paired with a shitty minibucker. I don't like them, either of those pickups especially on a short scale (some reason they are more common their, gibson I guess) but obviously Mike Kerr does otherwise he wouldn't use them. The rest of the fit and finish criticism is fair though.

Hey bud I went dumpster diving and I got a sterling ray 34 with the gig back . The only thing wrong with it is has no pickups or controls but in God shape . So far I straightent the neck fix o me tuner and set the intonation and set the action s low as I can and it plays like butter. That's all the work I did on in now. I'm haven so many ideas for it. I like to make it a passive bass , I hate dealing with active battery go dead on me when I'm doing a gig and I had it happen to many times that still gives me nitemarres. I all so want a quick connect system so I can swap out pickups when I want so all I need is just one bass until it falls apart and then fix up again. Peace

I just bought one from Sonicake via their eBay store. It came faulty. Got a refund but I'm not thinking of buying another one. Not a very good first impression especially since I was looking to using it as my main rig at gigs.

Do you recommend a bass or guitar amp for these?

I own 2 OC2s from back in the day. Yeah it sounds good. But I actually preferred the MXR Vintage on my board until I tried the OC5. Way more functionality and I love being able to split the signals. Those who say they can tell the difference between the 2 and 5 I’d love to see them take a blindfold test. I’ve been a session player over 40 years and most recently the touring bassist for The Miracles. I can’t tell the difference on the vintage mode and I seriously doubt anyone else truly can either. The audience certainly cannot.

I have tried every distortion pedal out there held in high regard by bassists. I have to say that the Big Booty Judy is the best one I’ve ever owned. I can really get that Jaco “word of mouth” tone which I’ve never been able to achieve elsewhere

I do not agree with you. I own one in olympic white. I think this bass sound is not just decent but unique and great. The tone knob has a really great spectrum of sounds and does great characters. No problem you have your and I have my opinion about this little horse. It does not have to match, I am really satisfied with this great lil' instrument with flats.

Why buy something that sounds like a Precision bass that has neck dive and no body contours? Buy a Precision bass that's ergonomic and well balanced. Orange should just stick to making amps.

I'm still gonna say the development of this bass is backwards. The guy doesn't play a five string and suddenly has a sign signature five string.

I am about to buy a Squier jaguar modified with an Humbucker MM style. Well not for 1600€ or whatever.

There are too many things going on here - a) first, the pups' lack of balance. Sounds quite Royal Blood'ish to me. Kerr split the signal to get two totally distinct tones and those pickups are designed to do exactly that. Kerr isn't a normal bass player - he doesn't even consider himself as such, as he uses the instrument more as a sound design tool and doesn't fit the usual bassist role. b) However, when it comes to the g string misalignment, that's an unforgivable lack of QC. I can't imagine how Fender can justify that as some signature characteristic. Thank you for the review.

If you use them right fender vintage style tuner are the absolute best for tuning stability

i have an aerodyne p bass and love it. i think i need an aerodyne jazz bass too... in love with the gray color.

I am generally not a fan of combos, but I am seriously considering the 1x12 version of this one as a portable solution for smaller, club-sized gigs. What I am REALLY hoping for is an active cabinet version of the 1x12 that can link to these new combos and\or accept line-level inputs from ADAM, A-O Phi, and MT Infinity pedals. (I say this as a happy ADAM owner)
